Business Challenge

PING excels at pushing technology boundaries and testing novel ideas to enable golfers to play their best. They were in a strong position to move ahead in the marketplace and sought a partner to complement their spirit of innovation — aligning technology with the goals of the business and needs of consumers.

Our initial challenge included launching a refreshed digital presence that fit the brand while also meeting the high standards for web accessibility that PING strives for on all its digital properties. Concurrently, we recommended a digital transformation roadmap that would guide the PING organization in bolstering their technology capabilities and creating more meaningful consumer interactions.

Strategy and Solution

Our teams were embedded across multiple work streams within the organization to provide development and project management coaching and make recommendations on how PING could transform for the better in a big way.

In less than six months, Nerdery put the energy of the PING brand into the award-winning new site, serving as the launchpad for creating new consumer relationships. We catalyzed a strategic digital transformation to align people, processes and tools with business objectives — improving work methodologies and development processes, launching direct-to-consumer e-commerce, modernizing legacy platforms and more.


Transforming Technology Teams

Thanks to project management process implementation alongside Agile coaching from our embedded leadership, the previously siloed technology group now runs as a modern product management and software delivery organization. A technology leadership program was also launched to identify people with high growth potential.

E-Commerce Launch

Nerdery assisted PING in implementing additions and modifications to the Kentico CMS system to support the launch of its e‑commerce channel in the U.S., with Canadian and European e‑commerce soon to follow. Our support also included the assessment of fulfillment processes and systems necessary for e‑commerce success.

Digital Business Team Support

Nerdery guided the launch of PING’s brand new Digital Business team to focus on consumer engagement. Our support included defining KPIs as well as team mission and organizational structure. This growing net new team has now hired multiple roles and has a strategic roadmap that will take it through 2020.

Consumer Site Design, Delivery and Support

Our embedded teams worked with stakeholders, led workshops and conducted research to create user stories. We then designed, implemented and optimized the new, placing value on PING’s legacy and heritage while creating an entirely new digital presence. We continue to introduce new features to the website while mentoring internal teams and ensuring they are equipped to manage the Kentico CMS solution into the future.
