The Nerdery announces the promotion of Jonathan Dexter to the position of Engineering Practice Director. A strategic thinker with 15 years of software development experience, Dexter is a valued asset for clients and colleagues who count on him to provide expert direction on technical architecture, while maintaining a focus on the long-term viability of complex solutions.
Previously, Dexter served The Nerdery as Principal Software Engineer and stepped up into the role of Engineering Practice Team Lead one year ago. “Since that time he has distinguished himself by building and supporting the engineering practice while also delivering on client work,” said Nerdery Vice President of Delivery Arpit Jain. “As the Engineering Practice Director, Jonathan will continue to drive change and innovation in our engineering practice.”
Dexter joined The Nerdery in 2013 and has since furthered the digital transformation of multiple clients and mentored several colleagues. His strongest technical skills are in the areas of IoT consulting and multiple programming languages and platforms, with a knack for helping clients make strategic digital decisions. Journalists have come to know him as a subject matter expert who can articulately discuss his craft and industry in approachable terms relatable to non-technical audiences. As a thought leader in his field, Dexter has spoken publicly at industry and tech events.
In his new role, Dexter is responsible for driving The Nerdery’s engineering standards, best practices, tools, cross-training and thought leadership for all disciplines. He will focus on building The Nerdery's engineering talent, supporting The Nerdery's partner ecosystem and helping clients apply technology to become digital leaders in their industries.
