B&B Manufacturing Co. Launches BBOnline Web Site by Sierra Bravo
B&B Manufacturing Co., Headquartered in Valencia, California, launched its BBOnline web site which provides tools for its suppliers, buyers, engineers and quality personnel. B&B Manufacturing Co. selected Sierra Bravo to develop this site in an effort to enhance supply-chain communications with real-time efficiency. The site allows suppliers exclusive access to information stored on B&B’s legacy business system.
Product delivery dates provided by suppliers on the web site is used to drive the manufacturing schedule on B&B’s MRP system. Suppliers will use the site to collaborate with B&B’s buyers, engineers and quality personnel to solve problems quickly and efficiently. The site allows users to share documents and images associated with materials that do not meet quality standards set by B&B Manufacturing. A host of other services are provided to the suppliers allowing them to view their account information, payment status, etc.
Sierra Bravo’s expertise in developing web applications that link to legacy business systems was a major factor in B&B Manufacturing’s selection process. “We asked Sierra Bravo to do a pilot project to see how the proposed solution might work. The project was completed quickly and the technology they used performed better than we expected. The rest of the project went just as well, exceeding our expectations,” said Will Tiefuhr, IT Manager of B&B Manufacturing.
