VISI Becomes Presenting Sponsor and Website Host of Overnight Website Challenge

Sierra Bravo's F1 Overnight Website Challenge Presented By VISI Gives Web Developers 24 Hours to Develop New Websites for Minnesota Non- Profit Organizations

Imagine being locked in a room with 80 web developers for 24 hours with only one challenge in front of you — design a dynamic new website for a deserving non-profit before the time runs out. That’s the premise of the first-ever “F1 Overnight Website Challenge,” which will be sponsored and presented by VISI, Minnesota’s largest hosting and connectivity provider.

Beginning the morning of March 1, 2008, teams of developers and designers will work with 10 selected Minnesota non-profits to create fully-operating websites for them by the morning of March 2. VISI will provide one year of free web hosting for each of the websites.

“Website design and hosting are costly investments for many non-profit organizations that have continuous challenges just to keep their organizations running,” says Gary Elfert, Director of Product Development and Marketing for VISI. “VISI is thrilled to help the Twin Cities non-profit community by hosting the websites for the next year.”

“Non-profits will be selected based on the case they make for themselves and their web needs, as stated in their application,” says Mark Hurlburt, Director of Marketing for Sierra Bravo. “They must also commit to have one or more representatives present for the entire challenge.”

Non-profit organizations are encouraged to apply for one of the 10 slots by visiting www.F1webchallenge.com. The application process will remain open until February 1, 2008, with the selected non-profits being announced February 18.
