Sierra Bravo Corp. leased a 2,100 square-foot Illinois office on the near-west side of Chicago. President Luke Bucklin expects the brick building on 316 N. Elizabeth St. to open August 1 with seven employees, in advance of the fall advertising season.
As the Bloomington office expansion nears completion, the company continued to bring on more bodies, hiring eight employees in April and the same number through the first half of May.
Bucklin said the company was up to 108 full-time employees and four full-time contractors.
The firm posted record numbers in March, with more than $1.1 million billed and aboit 12,000 labor hours, Bucklin said. That high mark may not stand for long, however, as May's workload looked strong and was on pace to surpass March.
"A lot of our salespeople are hitting their stride," he said.
His customers are freer with cash these days and they're willing to sign on the dotted line 15 days after a proposal, on average.
"People are coming to us with ideas and they're going forward with those ideas quicker and more frequently than they were six months ago," Bucklin said.
