iOS Developer - Minneapolis

The Nerdery is looking for a talented iOS developer skilled in all aspects of mobile development. Our ideal candidate is highly motivated, always learning and willing to expand their horizons. Most importantly, they embrace The Nerdery’s unique culture by sharing their knowledge and experience with our 200+ developer team through collaboration, group work and peer review. Requirements:

  • Proficient in Objective-C
  • Knowledge of compiler settings
  • Must have basic Core Data knowledge
  • Must have a good working knowledge of UIKit
  • Must have a basic understanding of Grand Central Dispatch and when to use it
  • Must have worked on an app in the App Store
  • Must know how to use Instruments (Leaks, Object Allocations, etc)
  • Must know good memory management techniques (what goes in dealloc, viewDidUnload)

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or 4 years web development experience

Every Nerd Should Have:

  • General understanding of project management principles. (Agile, Iterative, Waterfall)
  • Familiar with version control
  • Familiar with QA and deployment processes

Bonus:

  • Android Development experience
  • Can explain when and why to use nonatomic vs atomic in properties
  • Facebook experience
  • Basic Photoshop slicing skills
